The An-225 from earlier today's currently on it's way back to the Ukraine; there's an An-124 also up at the same time - just off the Moldovian border - can see the pair together on screen.
There is a 124 due into Shannon which may be the same one and I think there was another 124 up today too!

Busy airspace above Northamptonshire tonight, with 2 of the worlds largest planes in close proximity:
You ruined my day posting those up. I was sat watching my son play cricket directly under that flight path at that time. I looked up, as I always do when I hear a jet, saw nothing despite fairly clear skies, assumed it was just another DHL cargo flight or EasyJet and carried on watching the cricket. Idiot. I truly am the world’s worst plane spotter.Anyway just heard this go over my house on a short hop, but too much cloud to see it. D’oh!
So, this aircraft has been flying over mine earlier on for a few hrs, back and forth, each time about 500 yds further away, details for company operating say it’s a survey aircraft.
So, what would they be surveying from 2000ft over Essex and Suffolk, at 6 pm on a Friday pm. The flight path for Stansted does run pretty much through the middle of the area if that’s any help.

Based in Liverpool them, they have a load of those planes. They do all sorts:
Current operations include pipeline and powerline inspection and survey, environmental survey data collection (birds and other wildlife), tracking of tagged birds, air-to-surface and air-to-air photography, aerodrome lighting inspection, radar testing, global mapping, LiDAR and other types of capture with specialist, bespoke sensors.

Think it was at the Kent Airshow over the weekend..
It was landing at North Weald last time I looked. I didn't even know about the Kent Airshow at Headcorn, I used to go there regularly. I have noticed that there is a Combined Ops Military and Airshow there on 7th/8th August. Fingers crossed I can get along to that one.Think it was at the Kent Airshow over the weekend..
