They fly over my house (West Wiltshire) pretty much without fail every single day, often one in the late afternoon/early evening. Very distinctive sound compared to the C17.

Are they not in service fully now? I just assumed they were RAF.

This was up around 30,000 feet, so I assumed it was a foreign one overflying the UK. As they are turboprop powered, they sound very different to a normal jet engine - i.e. they have a loud droning sound compared to the roar of a jet.

They remind me in many ways of the Short Belfasts. We use to see, and hear, Belfasts passing overhead Ireland on the way from Lyneham/Brize Norton to North America..

If this is what I think it is, it flies over my house regularly and when I've looked on ADS-B it seems to be an RAF flight going to Malta.

Likely a shuttle service the BAE eastern shuttle also used to go into Coningsby 2/3 times a week.

Appears to be a Malaysia Airlines A380 circling off Margate dumping fuel for a return to Heathrow. If I was clever enough to figure out Mac High Sierra architecture I would put a screen grab up, but sadly I'm not!

Nothing particularly unusual about this as far as flight tracking is concerned, but I looked it up because upon seeing it flying over in this morning's clear sky it was clearly only emiting 3 contrails. Is there any way of finding out if they reported an issue?

FL380 would probably need all the engines performing.

Could it not just be the angle you were viewing it from?

Somebody forgot to top up the 'contrail' reservoir on that engine.
