Having watched these two do a bit of a grand tour of England taking in the Lakes, The Dales, The Peak District - they did the decent thing and gave me a fly by at low level.

JIGSAW1 ZH889
JIGSAW2 ZH879

I saw them in the distance, looked fantastic. Checked Flight radar and they were just lining up for the dambusters practice run!

Nice !

The route they took must be a "standard training route" as we regularly have singleton C-130/A-400 past us at the 300 foot (indicated) mark - we are on a hill so they are just about level with us.

Even told my son and his mates when the 2 Hercules were up on the Vale of York they were likely to give us a flyby as they saw the A.400's last week. Think we have got a couple of ADSB converts smile

Every day since the war in Ukraine started the Canadians have been frlying material from Canada to Poland.

I see they are now patrolling the Mediterranean flying out of Sicily.

Odd one, left Glasgow for Faro - and is now circling Lanarkshire. Burning off fuel for a return?

Keeping an eye on some of Russia's Black Sea Fleet (inc those 2 Kilo class subs), plus others from the Northern Fleet are in the med - https://russianfleetanalysis.blogspot.com/2022/03/...

Couple of questions for those knowledgeable about these things; why do the Russians take such a wide birth on this route? I can understand avoiding Ukraine airspace but why so far west? Also, given they're not receiving spares for all these planes they've knicked how much longer can they keep them flying?

Flighradar reckons there's an American Apache flying about over the UK at the moment, but at 400 knots I'm assuming it's actually an F-15 like the one behind it!
