Two engines not a bit limiting? My (amateur) reasoning — Means if it loses an engine in the field it becomes pretty useless for MTOW, whereas a four engine plane can probably still take off quite heavy on three?
Most of the similar sized Tactical Transports are 2 engined as well - G-222, C-160 Transall, Kawasaki C-2 etc so the concept must be sound, although I'm guessing reduced airframe size and reduced complexity also plays a huge part in making the decision to go with 2 engines vs 4. Scabutz said:

I know the reasons for it, or at least most of them, but it blows my mind that single component, albeit a very complex one, can cost $13m.Imagine if you dropped one when fitting it.

I live I MK and there are loads buzzing over. It used to be even more crazy in the past when single engine choppers were allowed. There were some big names there today. Wonder which one TC is on.

Lawrence Stroll inbound to Silverstone. His helicopter did 14 flights yesterday so I guess it’s been used to ferry VIPs. Reg T7 LSS
Generally the same choppers working back and forth all day and night, We normally sit at Stowe which backs onto the heliport; there's a constant "airbridge" to the point there's actually helicopter traffic jams at certain points with half a dozen+ loitering and more turning over on the ground, but then again it's important that those who get to lecture us hoi polloi on sustainability don't suffer such pain as using surface transport...Scabutz said:

I’ve also witnessed someone try to remove an antenna (worth £1m from an aircraft (only 5 antenna were ever made in the world) and missed a tiny bolt destroying the antenna (Crane required to remove it). I’m so glad that wasn’t me and my name was no where near the paperwork.
The Sgt supervising at the time was physically sick after it happened.

This came over earlier at around 1700ft, what lovely thing, quite distinctive engine sound as well.
