Anyone know what the Osprey that just flew over central london about 10 minutes ago was or who it may have been carrying / escorting? Never seen one fly before, very odd!

That's tomorrow morning I believe, and then on to Windsor in afternoon for cucumber sarnies with Her Maj.

He's going to Blenheim Palace later this afternoon/eve for some posh nosh.

I also believe he's heading up to Turnberry at the weekend, hence the activity at Prestwick.

It was intermittent, but yep, that was taken from my PC earlier this afternoon just after he took off from Brussels (the BBC website had a live text and confirmed he had taken off just after 1pm and so I looked on the tracker). I was very surprised it appeared on there too! There was a Boeing C-32 (757) following behind which was also viewable.

I've also spotted an intermittent AF1 signal in US, surprised there wasn't more activity around Stansted when he was landing.

Yep the C-32 has just exited the UK en route to US on the Exchange

We use to follow Air Force 1 and other USAF VIP missions on our air band radios back in the 1970s. The callsign was always SAM (Special Air Missions).
