Does it really have only 18 lifeboats for over 8,880 people or are there some more elsewhere?
Are they double decker lifeboats?
370 person capacity each, so 6,600 capacity total. Are they double decker lifeboats?
I presume the intention is that at full capacity the crew will use the liferafts - you can see the canisters between the two banks of liferafts.
We had a great trip on the anthem of the seas last year which is now the 4th largest after these oasis class liners. Whatever you think of these ships they are impressive feats of engineering. People question the stability of the top heavy designs but the anthem sailed into a severe storm off the east coast of the USA last year and despite the sensational reporting it seemed to come out of it very well.

What's it like on board these beasts? 6000+ people brings me out in a sweat, that's twice as many as the village I live in. Do you have to queue for everything and what's it like when thousands disembark in the same place?
Hell on the high seas I should imagine. Thousands of people with their noses in the trough at the all day buffets, watching washed up comics and second rate shows, losing all your money in the casinos and being fleeced in the tacky gift shops. We were in Bournemouth yesterday visiting my MiL, when my wife said "take me to Southampton so I can see that big boat". Now obviously "take me to bed or lose me forever" would have been preferable, but she declined as we were parked outside a care home at the time.
So I set a coastal course through the New Forest and up through Marchwood (secretly hoping to see it from t'other side to avoid driving into Southampton itself). We ended up in the small car park in Mayflower Park next to Gate 8/Birth 101. The 'beast' was alongside the City Cruise Terminal...
...as we drove in to town, we thought we'd spotted it. But that turned to to be "only" Ventura.
Harmony of the Seas is 70 metres longer, 30 metres wider at the beam, and about 110,000 Gross Tonnes bigger than Ventura, with roughly double the passenger capacity. When we realised that the 'building' behind Ventura wasn't a luxury high-rise block of apartments, but the ship we'd come to see, I couldn't help but utter an expletive.
We couldn't see much beyond the stern of the ship from where we were standing...
Harmony Of The Seas alongside in Southampton
And is if on cue...
The NYK Hyperion was hauled up the channel by a couple of tugs, just to lend a sense of scale to the scene

Was considering a Caribbean trip on her for November but a quick look at the US Visa website has put me off.
Did Britannia last year which was enjoyable.
Why is the US visa website putting you off?Did Britannia last year which was enjoyable.
My understanding is it's simple - have an up to date passport, apply for an ESTA and go on holiday
