Been some cracking sayings on this site over the time I have been here, I think the highlights are:

"hoof it up her clacker"

"swashbuckling st-spoon"

and describing a fat lady not as pregnant looking, but "greggnunt"

Not really a phrase, but reading NP&E has certainly made me much more adroit at Applied Sociopathy.

Powerfully-built company director.

Hammering frozen sausages into the lawn.

This one has left me in fits of giggles.

Can someone explain the origin/meaning of the sausages/custard/parrot terms?

I'm sure I'll probably inflict a few of my own phrases in the future.

The "custard test" is to weed out the BS probably of a noob who claims to own a Ferrari/Lamborghini etc.

Place a tub of Bird's custard next to keys for said expensive car in the ignition or close by as proof of ownership.

I don't think it originated here but got picked up by PH.
