I know it's a terrible photo but it was great to finally see a B-2!

No where near to Chris's standards but a few of mine from a very damp RIAT on Saturday

Plenty of departure activity today even up here in Northants, where the East-bound aircraft are heading home. Thanks to the fine weather, I have had my binoculars at the ready all morning. Lots of interesting stuff. Just had the Ukranian IL76 escorted on each wing by the SU 27 pair flying overhead.

Haha. I am ticking off many from the list of exhibitors as I write. Another big 4 engine plane (maybe KC135) and two escort fighters (maybe F16s) just gone over.

Great shots Chris. I love the shot of the Raptor(?) generating it's own cloud on your flickr stream.

Loving all the photos on this thread chaps, reminds me of my days there in 2006/7 - I've got some nice shots of the Thunderbirds from 2007, was that the last time they were over before this year?

I was there camping from Thursday through till last night (got back around 6am today)

Excellent show, even the rain on the Saturday and the cancellation of the raptor etc didn't dampen it too much.

I now have about 3000 pictures to sort through

Thank you. Only looked at those few so far, 1500 left to go through when I get some free time later in the week! Wasn't sure how the Fuji kit would hold up but really impressed with it.

Looking pretty good so far, especially in that light. What body and lens is it? I used an EOS20d/40d + 100-400L back when I went and was pretty pleased with a lot of shots.

I also remember how time consuming it was trying to pick and 'shop the best ones. Airshows are definitely trigger happy places for the shutter button.

Just got back after being there since Wed.
Even with the reduced flying on Saturday most people seemed happy with the day.
Apparently the Ukraine pilot was called in for a chat for coming really close to the crowd line after his display on saturday.
Sunday was a great day the Ukraine pilot did an even better display on the Sunday.
I'm surprised they had anything left as everything was for sale or swopping!!! They were a bit miffed having there beer taking away from the hanger party as they tried to bring their own. They certainly looked a hard drinking bunch of what seemed mainly overweight middle aged men.
The dutch had their usual massive sound system at the back of their herc but no barbie on the wing.
The Japanese were really friendly and their drummers were excellent apparently someone complained about them being too loud!!

I managed to miss the special visitor as there was no tanoy where i was and i did not hear anything on the radio, which i'm well annoyed about.

It was a great if tiring few days.
Apparently next year is 3 full days rather than reduced flying on the friday so i will be back next year hopefully.
Only thing is i will have to be there from tuesday next year

I attended Sunday, this is the 5th or 6th RIAT I have done and this was the best, all the nations involved gave a great account of themselves, The B2 turning up was just epic and totally unexpected, it was circling in the distance to the east of the runway around 3-4 miles out attended by the 2 F-15's from Lakenheath, trying to be inconspicuous but you could not mistake the Silhouette, when it came in for a couple of flyby passes the crowd went very quiet, I think RIAT managed to stun nearly 100K people with one plane.
Best noise goes to the SU27 Flanker, it's a flippin savage ground shaker. Whole event was superb this year.
Very nice to see the USAF back with full support.
