Did you offer them a cuppa?
Having dealt with a few police officers in my time I find the maritime branch some of the friendliest guys out on the water.
Would it have something to do with the fact that most of the people they meet are way past the talking stage?Having dealt with a few police officers in my time I find the maritime branch some of the friendliest guys out on the water.

She looks a bit tatty; a lick of paint wouldn't go amiss.
She has been at sea since January! I’m sure she’ll get a lick of paint when she’s in the states over winter. Max_Torque said:

One would hope the good ladies will have raised their rates in anticipation of the pounding coming their way...."Listen Sailor, you might well be part of the most powerful Navy in the world, but that doesn't mean you can through any old stuff into my cardboard recycling bins".........

BTW, @Huntsman, that was't you out there too yesterday afternoon was it? Thought your boat had numbers on though?
Sorry, missed this, have been quality control testing Rioja in Spain for a fortnight. No, not me, that's a Spearfish, (GRP, hull moulded from a Huntsman 31, Vixen, hull number 28).
Quite right, my old boat wore race numbers, new boat doesn't, but could do, only just found out recently she raced as 510 (well, I say that...she was prepped to race, numbered, owned at the time by a serial racer, but no actual results or entry records found yet)

The big grey one at the back has a number on, although to me it looks like it could be a bit of a handful in the turns. No, not me, that's a Spearfish, (GRP, hull moulded from a Huntsman 31, Vixen, hull number 28).

However, given all the spikey bits on it, in a race if he said he had won, I would not be arguing.

It can just about turn!
You not Fastnetting? The yacht is, however team Israel are the crew for this years event. The weather was looking promising for them at the start but now with light winds they’ll be struggling against the rest of IRC1 in their lighter yachts.
Hopefully the winds will pick up and a heavy sea forms and then they’ll fly through the pack.
