Mmm that time of year where I start to get jealous of everyone's boat pics again! Nice to know roughly where some of you are, moving in a few weeks from MK to near Warboys/Chatteris so not far away so I can some and mither you all while you are doing boat things hehe also will be handy knowing where to moor up around there as we will be making a purchase later this year if all goes to plan (and by plan that Mrs geeks concedes to my plan not to put an extension on the new house straight away while we consider if it is actually needed!)

I'll probably be up again next week so will PM you first.
Won't be around I'm afraid, visiting mother for a long weekend before I go off on a Scottish island adventure for a couple of months.

At least we had the first PH boating outing of the year !! (Well, without knowing it).

Scottish island adventure sounds fun. Hiring a boat?

A man has just arrived to measure up for new wheelhouse canopy. I’m excited. Although other half has just now posed the question of canvas or PVC?

Oddly enough enough a man is arriving next week to do the same for mine! They're in the area that day.

After much deliberation I chose navy canvas. PVC is easier to keep clean, but goes baggy and just looks a bit cheap IMHO. The price was the same.

Well we’ve gone for some canvas looking PVC stuff in a dark grey which apparently doesn’t need any regular proofing and is guaranteed for 15 years. I’m sure he said it was called Lodge but I can’t actually find that? Should be done in just a few weeks! Who have you gone with?

Given the coincidence with place and time, I bet it's the same - Titan.

However they didn't mention that Lodge stuff so I might ask...

Didn't you have to pay a deposit first? I paid mine back in January to secure an April fitting date.

I hear they scan the cockpit with a laser... witchcraft!

Paid today. Yep scanner was pipping away and done within a few minutes. To be honest i wasn’t surprised by the technique as it’s exactly what I expected. Probably because witch.

My Titan canopy fitted end of autumn last year -

I found them good people to deal with and the fitter was great.

PVC does indeed look a bit crap after a while, the guy who did the scanning told me not to go for it.

I’ve been thinking about the fitting and now wondering if he meant the cover would be made up in a few weeks and perhaps we need to book fitting after that :scratchin:

In the meantime woke up on the other boat to this reflection. It’s the simple things

What was the damage on the titan canopies?
I'm not sure ours has got another repair in it so may have to bite the bullet.

It will depend on the boat. For a 27' aft cockpit cruiser, just under £2K. It will last 10 years and their work is good, so it's OK.
