Oh that's a bummer...What does that yellow sign say on the left?
I know you can't drive down there any more...but you can usually walk down.
It says you watch at your own risk. The other sign tells you to vacate the area. I'm sure the popo will clear up what it all means. There'll probably tell you to move so do a lap and then return.

Yeah I might go to Totterdown instead. Does that ever get full so they have to turn day view cars away (i.e not camping, just parking)?

Not sure. What day are you going? I'll be there tomorrow hopefully on my bicyclette.

You could always buy a ticket? They’re clearly trying to avoid the shoreham scenario of people getting hit outside the perimeter.

Sunday - are you going to gate 14 or Totterdown? Please let us know what it's like.
The other site is Furzey Hill - just wondering what the views are like there if anyone knows?

Sorry I posted this as a separate thread, didn't realise this one covered it:

I'm going to have a free couple of hours tomorrow morning so wizzing along on one of the bikes as long as weather is decent.
Obviously it's not worth paying to get in for such a short period, Anyone able to advise on decent viewing spots in the area that I won't get in trouble over please?

Thank you

That's exactly what we're talking about...
Crash Gate 14a was the best place near Totterdown - but it sounds like we may be moved on from that location now? (awaiting confirmation)
Other places are the Totterdown camp site (runway obscured by trees) or Furzey Hill - not sure what that's like <- both charge to get in, usually a fiver by foot, or £15/20 for a car.

The best thing about Fairford for military operations is there aren't many local hills that overlook it and the few that might give a glimpse have a useful tree bank in the way

We had 6 typhoons doing laps around my area(Leominster) for about half an hour today. They were apparently awaiting clearance to do a fly by/display today.

I can’t wait for tomorrow! We’re going down for the weekend.

Absolutely gutted.

Whilst I did enjoy the day in total (SU27 particularly) I can't hide my disappointment that the RAF100 flight was cancelled because of rain which subsequently meant we didn't see the large Typhoon formation, F35B or the Great War flight. The F35A display was also missing a P51.

Gutted.

Shame really and the light was awful for photography afterwards with the grey skies. Not sure we need so many acts apeing the red arrows routines biggrin

Also shows how little people care for the RAF typhoon display closing the show as everyone started clearing off when the amazing flanker finished biggrin

Roll on tomorrow!

We're there on Sunday, any tips for parking? Get there early I guess, are there any car parks that are better than others to head for?

Thanks
