Just finished a spell of volunteering there. Long days but god fun.
I think the Italian team were excellent again the Ukrainians were a lot more restrained this year. As said the a400 always does a good display i managed to catch the b2 this year which was good.
It seemed a good show.
Amazed by the amount of people wearing inappropriate footwear for the amount of walking you have to do.
Also having no suncream or water as not expecting the weather to be hot, there is no helping some people.
The irony is that along with my suncream and water I also remembered my umbrella on Friday...I think the Italian team were excellent again the Ukrainians were a lot more restrained this year. As said the a400 always does a good display i managed to catch the b2 this year which was good.

Sorry I posted this as a separate thread, didn't realise this one covered it:
I'm going to have a free couple of hours tomorrow morning so wizzing along on one of the bikes as long as weather is decent.
Obviously it's not worth paying to get in for such a short period, Anyone able to advise on decent viewing spots in the area that I won't get in trouble over please?
Thank you
That's exactly what we're talking about...I'm going to have a free couple of hours tomorrow morning so wizzing along on one of the bikes as long as weather is decent.

Crash Gate 14a was the best place near Totterdown - but it sounds like we may be moved on from that location now? (awaiting confirmation)
Other places are the Totterdown camp site (runway obscured by trees) or Furzey Hill - not sure what that's like <- both charge to get in, usually a fiver by foot, or £15/20 for a car.
I must say a big thank you to the volunteers making it all work, my first visit to RIAT was absolutrly fantastic and the family enjoyed it too. Water distribution was great, crowd all seemed very happy and courteous and getting in and out of the red car park was far easier than I'd feared.
Next time I'll have to go for a couple of days so I can look at all the parked planes too!

We went on Saturday and the water refilling stations were a superb idea. They also saved me about £25 based on the amount myself & my two lads got through last year.
I thought it was an excellent display. Recently I was lamenting the loss of the variety of types the RAF operates compared to back when I used to go in the 70s,80s & 90s but with a lot of former Soviet states visiting it has now almost made up for it. Having been around when the Cold War was still in play I found the sight of a C-130 in Polish AF markings a bit odd.
Highlight for me was the F-35 and the Kawasaki C2 which was a bit different and a lot larger than it looks in photos. The nice tight BBMF formation was bloody good as well. Others that got my attention were the Whirlwind and the Sycamore.
I wanted to stay to see the Osprey fly but we had the FoS on Sunday so we retreated early to preserve ourselves.
