What would that cost BA to do?
According to Google about £125,000.

It looks brilliant yes

I remember at an aircraft exhibition two years ago helping a lady who worked for a company who painted aircraft build their stand. After much help I asked if I could quote for their stand at future shows.

I was told they don’t make enough money painting aircraft........

So now I don’t make enough money to help people in trouble so fk you..........

Good doc too - although they didn't mention that the 747 evolved from Boeing and Pratt and Whitney's failed bid for the USAF CFX transport programme (won by Lockheed and General Electric).

Enjoy, Vegas I assume? Wind is 10-15kt at 270 so nice conditions for 24 departures.

Probably be a right turn after departure just over Knutsford and then heading out towards Liverpool. Quite cloudy so not much in the way of views though.

Heading to JFK. Upstairs, but in economy. Not too many chances to go up there so looking forward to it.

Am on a BA 747 to Chicago later this month. First time in over a decade since I was on one. Will be a great change from the 777s and Airbus. Heathrow too.

No Virgin 747’s fly into Vegas now. Moved onto a 330 a few months back. I’m pretty sure they let the last departing 747 do a fly by at McCarran which I thought was a nice touch!

I’m off to Barbados in two weeks out of Gatwick on a 747. I’ll be sad to see Virgin’s fleet retired. Their new 350’s look immense inside but when looking from the outside nothing will beat the 747!

They still look amazing. Had a great flight yesterday with almost no turbulence at all, rare and really relaxing. Really enjoyed it upstairs.

Was stuck in traffic on the M25 for ages the other day which was annoying. Except for being stuck under the flight path of Heathrow whilst a 747 took off. Wound the window down and listened to the roar.

We landed in Dubrovnik on Sunday, and taxied past a Qatar airways 747, I couldn’t see the number ,but it was one of their 2 cargo planes it seems. Looked nice in the Qatar livery.

Travelled with BA, Pan Am, Thai, KLM and Air New Zealand on the lovely 747, in the dim and distant past.
It always felt a bit special.

Bangkok to Phuket, all of a 40 minute flight. I think it went on to Singapore. We were "travelling" at the time and the upgrade from economy to first, was about 15 quid!
London to Honolulu on NZ in first - what an experience. Roast lamb, carved in front of you.
Pan Am from New York to London - back in the day when the upstairs was a lounge. As a 15 year old kid, I felt like a king and managed to "pull", mid Atlantic!!

I'll miss it.

Quite like flying on the 747, but hate them taking off from LHR! biggrin Live in Windsor, and any time there's a really noisy plane taking off I can be sure it's a BA 747 when checking on Flightradar24.

Spotted this on Monday, still not seen the BOAC retro livery in the flesh yet though. Flying on one in 3 weeks again on the upper deck, still love flying on them.
