Looks like some lucky shipyard will be in work for a few years. If he owns Canary wharf, he can afford a few decent welders.
Should be a good project and hopefully she will look superb if restored to her original lines.

The webmaster is now wondering why there is such an interest in the site and where all the readers are coming from!

Its great someone has the time money and desire to get her sailing again. She'll make a lovely yacht when fully restored.

Is that now, or before she fell over?

Absolute money pit.

I do hope that site is kept updated.

I think that's just before she fell over.

Wow, she was really quite a thing in her day! Hadn't realised the size:

Looks like a totally different boat to me.

Yeah there's some blurb on the website about how/when it was changed.

It certainly looks like it was something special back in the day.

Shame the original owner never managed to cross the Atlantis as he hoped.

Good God! Hats off to the new owner if he's going to restore her to her original lines, as she's been seriously hacked about over the years - new bow and stern, if I've read correctly.

Wow, how long must it have sat in the water (the wrong way) and the cost to recover it let alone restore it. Nice to see it being done rather than just buying a new one.

Pretty big ambition really, given that it's lost and all.

Well the bow is different, the stern is a totally different shape, and the middle is different.

I know the guy who’s bought her very well, he’s a client of mine.

He’s the sort of guy to see this sort of project through

I am so pleased to hear that. He's a brave man, given (as noted above) how the boat has been mutilated over the years and the state it is in now. I doff my virtual cap to him, and (for what it's worth, he doesn't know me from Adam) thank him for being willing to take that on.

He is clearly wealthy enough to go to any of the superyacht builders and have one of them create something to his personal desire, and yet he chooses to rescue a knackered, butchered wreck from a mudbank and restore it to its former glory.

Kudos to him.

Arguably he could pick up a running Hall Russel, including the one in sight of her present berth, for less than this will likely cost him but he obviously just fancies the project.

And yet the story starts out as him being outbid on ebay not once but twice. hehe

Can you tell him to get his ass in gear and fully update the website then! Oh and as we are impatient we expect a full team working on the project 24/7 with daily updates! 😂🤣😂
