Getting closer to RIAT now and a Mig 21 announced today in the flying display cool
Crikey.....

Worth going for that alone.

Not going to be too many occasions in the future you'll get to see a -21 using up most of Gloucestershire for a min radius burner turn biggrin

I think the Romanians are the last operators of the type in Europe now?

Shame the RAF couldn't muster a final Tonka display for its last full year in the RAF, and in the 100th year of the RAF, given the significant operational service the aircraft has given in the past 35 years rolleyes

Wasn't a MiG 29 meant to be there this year or was that just a rumour?

Ah maybe it was that then! I think I'll stick to just Flying Legends this year, IMHO Riat is a bit steep just for the MiG-21 and Su-22 frown

Saw a tweet the other day advertising Cosford Air show with a Polish Mig 29.

Mass RAF fly past with 50+ aircraft confirmed for the Friday. Tornado GR4s on the list which is great news.

Been going to Fairford since the mid 90’s. Over the years the crowd line has shrunk to accommodate more and more hospitality units which are situated right on the line. We used to be able to wander in at whatever time we liked and find a spot right at the front.

Now it seems to be occupied by the keen photographers, often equipped with steps. Of course they are also generally on their feet the whole time which means that everyone behind also has to stand if the want a view of the runway.

The crowd has been squashed into smaller areas with less room to spread out. It’s a shame really.
went throughout the 90s, towards the end it did seem very much a show put on for the hospitality with the 3rd class GA paupers pushed further out and crammed more every year.
