Get a job which will take you out for a spin on a private jet. idea you will get paid for it then. Result!
My Dad got a ride in one for work not because he is fancy or has a highfalutin job, but because they were buying something from a rural supplier miles from anything other than a tiny airport, and they flew them out there on a private jet from the big city.

So, yeah, get a job like that and work in it for thirty years for that one small perk.

Erm......

Spend 3 years in the early 90's as Travel-Agent to some of Harvey Goldsmiths 'talent',

I did. Run absolutely fking ragged but had a few Gulfstream jollies in my time.

Paul Weller did for me. Finally. An absolute grade-A bellend.

I don’t understand these new services. You share a private jet that leaves at a fixed time to fixed destinations so it’s not exclusive, it’s not flexible it’s just a scheduled flight on a small plane?!

Not having to go to a huge airport with everyone else is a massive bonus to flying on a private jet, also you can arrive 5 minutes before instead of 2-3 hours and at the other end you will be off the plane and out of the airport in 15 minutes.

Whats a 172? Only 172 I know is which doesnt look very plane like!

As regards the PA28 the OP asked for private jet. I am unsure about flying in something small, although I suppose its easier to understand how it stays in the air when its small!

This is something I have always wanted to do, I am sure the experience isn't as cool as I would expect but it doesn't stop the want!

Worked for Flexjet (like Netjets but owned by Bombardier who make the LearJets) in the late 1990's when they tried to launch their fractional ownership into the UK.

Flew multiple times on a Lear31a, Lear60 and Challenger 601.

Met some very fancy sports folks (golf and F1) and some city bigwigs too.

Out of this world experience, when you land the ground handling company didn't know you were on a freebie with the firm, a real insight into how the rich and famous get treated.

Best bit?... they go like stink. Performance take off from Heathrow late at night (they only allowed so many private plane movements each day and they tended to be non peak hours) over london was immense.

You know what, I bet it is! (provided it's a decent sized private jet).

Use them a handful of times a year for work and leisure. Empty legs and Wingly are the best value if you don't have access to a corporate or personal jet or copter. Speed and relaxation are the main benefits.

You know, that's not a bad idea. I wonder if we could 'crowd fund' a jet for a jolly for say 10 of us? biggrin
