More often than not we all board a bus on the tarmac....
That would be me. I’m on my feet as soon as possible as I need to stretch my back after sitting for any length of time. Why do you assume that those wishing/needing to stand are seeking priority and why does it affect or bother you?

I am mildly annoyed by people who take their seatbelt off in the air as soon as the sign has gone off, even though they aren't going to get up. This is on short flights (which are the only ones I usually do.) in 10 mins the seatbelt sign is back on and they have to put it on again. Why not just leave it on??

Another annoyance is people buying hot food on a 20min flight. Why not just wait? Its usually not ready in time and then there is a moaning match when it doesn't arrive before the flight is landing. They then have to wolf it down in time for landing and standing up as soon as the plane has exited the runway.

Sorry, why should someone’s choice of taking a seatbelt off because they be more comfortable without it annoy you and what difference does it make to your flight?

On the assumption they’re not throwing the unbuckled bit in your lap I’m sure there are greater things to worry about wink

Perhaps constant bashing of screens behind your head, people with seats reclined in front whilst I’m trying to eat, someone pulling your blind down or Joe Public pissing on the toilet floor might be annoying.....but undoing a seat belt, I’m confused

On a few occasions over the years my aircraft had to do an emergency stop during the taxiing stage. Those who unbuckled before the sign was switched off were catapulted into the seat in front.
Slightly different fron the original point, but the same in principal.

It doesn’t annoy me but I do find it bizarre. Seatbelts on aircraft are lightweight and can be worn loosely without you even feeling their presence. It’s just very odd behaviour given that the pilots on every flight ask that you have your seatbelt fastened at all times whilst seated so that you don’t get hurt in the event of turbulence or become a human wrecking ball in really bad turbulence.

It’s really not much of an ask and I don’t buy the comfort argument for a second.

It used to be requested that SB should be loosely fastened at all times. Latterly this was changed to securely fasted (ie tight) at all times. In sudden turbulence you can be shaken around within your seat if not tightly secured.
By tight, I don't mean so you can't breath, but as secure as you can be.

Have we had this yet...

When the person sitting behind you uses the back of your seat/headrest to prop themselves up (rather than using their own armrests), causing your head to tilt back and then violently lurch forward when they let go of your seat.

Annoys me no end.

Those people usually get a passive aggressive death stare first time they do it, second time they get a less passive loud comment about their imbecility!

Sound advice. Strap in and stay strapped in. (without weeing your pants of course)

Maybe you do, but the amount of people who jump up after a one hour flight cant all have dicky backs. Some of them definitely do think they have a priority to exit earlier given their efforts to barge past. The plane empties from the front unless someone specifically wants to wait until last to get off. Fair play if you are taking your turn. You can get up for a walk during a flight however so I wouldn't have thought that you would need to be seated for more than 30 minutes at any one time.

I said MILDLY annoying. And yes as per other replies you are asked to keep your seatbelt fastened at all times when seated. Some people just have to go against rules or requests.

As an ex crew member, when travelling as a passenger I always waited until last. Apart from those who have no hold baggage or first class bags, everybody will be still waiting at the carousel staring at that solo bag, from a previous flight, going round and round......

Very true. Based on the carry ons you see these days however, especially on the city hopper flights, I think a majority have carry on only these days. I think that people are generally less considerate when travelling as they can be in a rush or generally stressed and this is all the more noticeable in a tightly packed tin can. My last flight, row of two. Guy already there dominating the centre arm rest to an extent that he is in my seat, guy across from me, cheap head phones blasting music the whole flight. Just little things in the grand scheme but annoying nonetheless.

I always chuckle at the business people on the little comimuter hops who steadfastly refuse to watch the safety brief, or deliberately don’t look out of the window during takeoff and landing, despite taking furtive glances.

Regardless of what aircraft I’m on, I always count the rows to the nearest exit and check the seat / seat pod so I know where my life vest is in case of emergency. I also like looking out of the window, as I spend enough time caged up in the bloody things!!!

I am always amazed at people who seem to have lost the appreciation of just how amazing flying is. On more than one occasion I have seen kids of nine or ten years of age not looking out of the window during take-off on a 747 or A380. I find that genuinely sad.

As a kid I was beyond excited every time I flew and now, literally hundreds of fights later, I still have a childlike wonder at just how amazing the whole thing is. However many times I do it, I am still in awe at getting off the ground onboard a giant aircraft, or coming in for landing over a city at night, the lights twinkling far below us as we descend towards the runway. It’s magical.

Flying along the Thames from the East on final approach during an early summer sunset is one of the most magical sights ever.

Equally, coming into land over the Heads in Sydney or through the tunnel in Wellington really make you realise how much they are at the other side of the world!

I love watching out of the window even if it’s boring old Dubai!!!

Ooo, that's a good one. Fecks me off no end. I've got a couple of weeks nowhere near an aeroplane at the moment and it's bliss!
