Hydrogas suspension, like my mum's old metro then?
Yep, same thing. Some minor changes since it first appeared on Challenger in the 80s, but essentially the same for 30 years. Very effective - I have flown a Challenger a short distance.

End of the line for the KRH.
Is it?

Unless there has been some significant change made recently which I've not heard, the KRH will convert to AJAX as part of the strike brigade concept? This has been the plan for quite some time although it has been delayed somewhat by the issues AJAX has had.

It's entirely possible that you know more than I do - I haven't seen anything official.

HESH laughs at your arbitrary boundaries.

Poor loader, going to be a lot less busy, and a lot heavier lifting.

HESH travels so slowly you have time to get out of the way...with the 76mm on Scorpion it was quicker to send a runner with a hand grenade.

I presume the proposed CR3 turret puts ready rounds in the bustle, behind armoured doors and under blow-off panels, per Leo 2 and Abrams, which begs the more important question of where does the beer go without charge bins to put it in?
Bloody light weights the really important thing is will it have a BV?

As a rule it's better if you can keep the outside world firmly on the outside, certainly.

Sorry, Brigade combat teams. Still, the point stands that KRH are moving onto AJAX.

Yep. And AJAX numbers are protected so I'm not expecting to see any reduction in KRH.

What will happen to the tanks which aren't selected for upgrading into Challenger 3s ? Keep them in service ? , Sell them off ? (one careful titled lady owner), mothballl ?, break for spares and scrap ?

Break for spares and scrapped most likely.

Seems a shame but they’re a bit big for people to buy and use for the school run I suppose.

I’d still like some kind of light military vehicle that I could pull into the school car park with and all the mums in their 4x4s and electric BMWs would think twice about trying to edge in front of.

That was the conclusion I had come to as well. I daresay two or three will end up on museum display somewhere.

Plenty of CVR(T) available. Get it converted back to a Jag XJS engine for that extra bit of pep (they were converted to diesels for logistics reasons but it's less reliable).

Cummins 6BTs are like cockroaches so I find that quite hard to believe.

I'm not up to date on what's already at Bovi TM in terms of new kit, but you'd like to think that one will go there (if not already, and preferably one that saw active service in the Gulf in '91?)

They already have 2 CR2 IIRC. One as a gate guardian as you come in off the main road and one inside by the cafe?

There is also a CR1 opposite the museum on the gate of Stanley Bks.
