Ajax is a firm fixed price contract. It hasn't cost the MOD a penny more than they expected it to, with the exception of any costs from running units on warriors as interim vehicles. That's cost them at least £20m at the time to put a reversing camera on warriors...

They're spending £20m just to fit 359 reversing cameras. There's no way £81m would have scratched the surface on keeping it going another 10 years.
