BRIXMIS has fk all to do with Det as you would know if you had fk all to do with 'Int''. You obviously had fk all to do with 'Imt' but are a 'Walt or the first degree.that should give you an idea on my age

you should know better than to question a crab about small arms weapon effects
she has been responsible for range training and safety for cooks and airframe fitters don't you know.
and is notorious for being hyper defensive if anyone dares question her knowledge.

Well you have certainly lived up to that assessment so faryou should know better than to question a crab about small arms weapon effects

I don't deny your range experience and the l85 works on the range but i think the M4 is a better weapon in theater it is lighter better balanced and more ergonomic.
Haven't posted for a while...Agree 100% with the above... (does my experience count? I'm a civvy aerospace engineer by trade but spent sometime in a sandy place looking for bangy things. Only TA though )

As usual you can't deal with a female knowing her profession so you, yet again, resort to insult. How fking pathetic.
Before I disappear again for another 6 months. I don't think this is the case in this instance... Your trade regardless of gender seems to be the issue, rightly or wrongly.citizensm1th said:
You Madam are the only member of the RAF i have ever met who considers Crab to be an insult. Even my raf barmy ex aircraft electrician brother is proud to be called a crab.
You also seem very touchy for someone who should be used to forces banter and inter service piss taking
i have a bootneck friend who would think something was up if i was not ragging on him about the unfortunate habit marines have of crossdressing at every opportunity as i would if he was not pilling in on me for being a pongo bag of ste who isn't good enough to shine his boots. (let's not bring para's in to this we all hate them)
you need to chill a bit just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean you have to go all nuclear and assume they are picking on you for being a female who knows her job.
it is just a different opinion born out of differing experiences ,i happen to think the M4 is a better weapon in theater ,you think the l85 is . we both have used assault weapons in different situations we are never going to agree
I don't take being calld a 'Crab' an insult - In which case that is fine. I can stay in the best hotels TYVM! I fundamentally disagree with you about the L85 though, I like the weapon and think the M4 outside FIBUA is a POS. I'm not going to take ste as a SAAI though. Why exactly (please don't shout at me. Just curious!)Ginetta G15 Girl said:
But, as usual, the PH male massif will not accept a female knowing stuff.
No, they won't accept the attitude you continually display to anyone who disagrees with you, which you have shown again with in the whole raft of abusive posts that followed the post I've quoted.A man with the same attitude would be treated just the same.
However, just a point, if the L85 is "better" than the M4, why do our most qualified serving soldiers, the SF, use the Canadian M4 variant the C8, rather than L85 when they've experience of both?
I know why I think they do but what's your opinion?
Ginetta - I have a fundamental issue with your lack of ability to discern the, very obvious, difference between an opinion and fact. Your continual forcing it amongst others actually ruins a conversation whereby all readers of this thread could input with their own opinion. In the best of cases, a sharing of opinions and the willingness of all participants to listen to, consider and ultimately accept other opinions can lead to a change in one's own opinion.
Why exactly does the fact that somebody disagrees with your opinion mean that they are:
- Being sexist;
- Berating you for being RAF; and/or
- Suggesting that you are wrong.
I, for example, do not like ketchup. I have been eating all my life. I am an experienced eater. I have eaten a variety of foods that ketchup might go with but I do not go around enforcing my view that ketchup is disgusting. This is on the basis that others may in fact like it. My experience of ketchup means literally nothing if someone else has their own opinion, which they are entitled to.
Your shouting that we must not question your knowledge because you have lots of experience falls short of being a sensible argument (IMHO - so please disagree). I would suggest, however, that you consider a meeting at a law firm. All the partners sit around the board room table and all argue that they are right because they have 7 years of training and 20 years practical experience. How is a decision made? By discussing the merits and taking a vote. No one person forces their opinion upon everyone else, please try not to do the same here.
Who cares how quickly you (or anyone else here) can reload a rifle. I wouldn't care that it isn't ambidextrous as I am woeful at anything left-handed.
I would suggest that if you are unwilling to participate fairly in these conversation threads then you desist from doing so. You are, frankly, ruining it for the rest of us who would like to discuss the merits and pitfalls of the hardware used by our Armed Forces.
That being said, if you are willing to present your own opinion without being defensive then please do so. Your personal experience will certainly have helped you form an opinion.

How's the Army doing in comparison? Maybe its turn for a spending spree?
AJAX is the big one, coming in initially to replace CVR(T), but potentially being a family of vehicles that definitely aren't FRES.Warrior's getting upgraded, the biggest difference being the new turret and same 40mm gun as AJAX, giving it the ability to fire on the move, and there's a Challenger 2 upgrade on the way.
All of the above have had a lot of delays though.

Just been reading up on the Challenger 2, that is some serious piece of kit especially that armour!Warrior's getting upgraded, the biggest difference being the new turret and same 40mm gun as AJAX, giving it the ability to fire on the move, and there's a Challenger 2 upgrade on the way.

For once MOD got something right , a little part of me would love to know just how it would fair against the russian MBT's it was designed to combat.

The basic armour is generally considered to be about the best there is, which is impressive considering it's 20 years old, and then they can fit reactive armour over the top. However if you really want be be impressed google "Hardkill DAS", the Israeli's have a system on their tanks to shoot at incoming missiles
