Homesick Mechanic nicks a Hercules.
Discussion
Ended rather badly.
Basically, at the bottom of the English channel.
Radio 2 were talking about this at lunchtime.
Homesick mechanic with ptsd requests leave, which is denied.
He gets drunk, nicks a Hercules from Mildenhall, 2 x QRA Lightnings dispatched, they return after failing to locate aircraft, this according to a person on the show who was apparently there. He said he heard a story, which he was never able to confirm that a Hunter was dispatched from Chivenor, which returned with a lot less ammunition than it took off with, and when It landed, MOD Police confiscated a camera from the aircraft, and spirited him away in the Police car.
He left the base shortly afterwards.
Apparently there is a search underway by a diving club for the wreck, Anyone able to share any more?
