Do it all the time, theres even a Rulebook module (DR1- Drag Race 1) which states that all drivers departing from a station simultaneously must consider their selves in a drag race. Pendolinos and 800s get away every time but most DMUs are fair game.

Three of our Garratts in action between Beddgelert and Porthmadog - 143, 87 & 138.

138 is currently out of ticket, replaced by 130 in the operational fleet.

I did a couple of short videos with my camera on the Worth Valley Railway earlier this month.

Yup, even though I didn't actually go on the train. And the shop shut before I got in- I'll be back once I've had my brunch!
I'm very jealous of that view!

Something about this pic - the shine of the Rover, the 'flat' BR Blue of the loco, the cramped view and the huddled buildings, the uniform lighting - makes it look like those shots you see on the cover of railway modelling magazines in WHSmiths, where they get a camera with a short lense and put it right down the middle of a layout.

But I know it's not. Lovely car; Series 2 SD1s always look good in black, I think

It is an intriguing photo, I can’t work out if it’s a contemporary one on a heritage line or taken in period. Not well up on preserved Peaks.

The last place you'd expect to find a Peak!

A couple of mine from the Great Central...

And the Glos & Warks line...

Mcdji identified it as Corfe Castle so it's a preserved line. The Peak must be on loan.
