RE: HMS Prince of Wales: PH Meets
Discussion
Important ceremony took place on board this morning. It commemorated HMS PWLS becoming the command ship of NATO's Response Force on the 1st January. As such she now sports a new sticker.
She will will serve as the command ship for the international task group, taking part in exercises in the Arctic, Baltic and Mediterranean.
HMS PWLS leaves port tomorrow morning 7:30AM for a three week training voyage.

Probably a dumb question, will HMS Prince of Wales remain a helicopter ship? Does it have the equipment and logistics in place to use her for F35-B's? It must have the whole mole system like her sister HMS Queen Elizabeth etc.
She’s a normal aircraft carrier and can and has taken F35. Early (late?) start tonight/tomorrow morning. HMS PWLS leaves port at 02:30 Monday 7th to head for the Cold Response 22 venture held off the coast around Norway.
This is a regular NATO training exercise and will be attended by up to 27 countries. So although nothing relating to world events should be read into this scheduled event, the timing of such a display might be considered to be conveniently poignant.

It’s been years in the planning so literally nothing to do about poignant timing. This is a regular NATO training exercise and will be attended by up to 27 countries. (The exercise happens every two years.)
