You're right it's a very distinctive noise, quite easy to recognise. We live about 20 miles from Mildenhall so they come over every now and again. Just watched the episode of the Saint where they stole a jet called Osprey in the programme. The episode was filmed in '66 and the "Osprey" was a Harrier (to my untrained eye).
That really must be some very very early footage?
It was one of the nine Kestrel FGA.1's from the Tri-partite Evaluation Squadron based at RAF West Raynham.Just watched the episode of the Saint where they stole a jet called Osprey in the programme. The episode was filmed in '66 and the "Osprey" was a Harrier (to my untrained eye).
That really must be some very very early footage?
