BA BAC1-11 flight from Heathrow to Heathrow in 1986.
With Patrick Moore on board chasing Halley’s Comet.
I was 10 and had no idea it was happening. We were visiting my aunt and uncle in Harmondsworth as far as I knew!

Future trips to see the relatives in Harmondsworth would never be quite the same

PIA747 from London Heathrow to Islamabad on 29 July 1981.
I can remember driving through the outskirts of London in the back of a Ford Transit quite clearly. There were flags flying, bunting on the roads, and Cliff Richard's "Congratulations" playing non-stop (seemingly) on the radio. i was quite young at the time and assumed this was the normal public reaction when Pakistanis flew back to Pakistan.
It was only much later that i realised that it was Charles' and Diana's wedding day.
We might be a similar age. I remember flying very often (maybe yearly) from Heathrow to Karachi, but on the cheaper middle eastern airlines like Syrian, or Gulf air which had stops in their respective countries. I remember Abu Dhabi airport back then was in the middle of a desert with absolutely nothing around it. I think we flew Aeroflot once but no idea for what reason - being an asian/Pakistani kid, the only holidays seemed to be to Pakistan. My first flight on my own was in the late 90's.I can remember driving through the outskirts of London in the back of a Ford Transit quite clearly. Going slightly off topic, I remember my second ever flight very well (I think).
It was LHR to Luxembourg in a British Eagle Britannia, in 1966.
As I recall, all the seats in the aircraft faced rearwards. The next year I flew in a Britannia Airways Britannia which had conventional seating.
