Give us a wave!
And guess which one I'm on!
Any questions, please ask. I'm currently here in quarantine before I can start working!
On the topic of DP, a handful of our vessels are, and some aren't.
Are you all doing mad stuff like cycling around the ship or forming tribes and making someone your king? And guess which one I'm on!

How do you get supplies?
Are you sleeping in the best rooms?
Have you gone into the bridge and said “look at me I’m the captain now” like in Captain Philips.

At this present time, no, but watch this space! We have removed the gym equipment to the open decks for outdoor social distancing exercise and we have full run of the ships decks.

We are taking it in turns to pop back to Southampton for supplies, fuel, water and also offloading crew for repatriation.
Are you sleeping in the best rooms?
Sort of, it's done by rank mostly, I have a lovely king bed, two 42in TVs, bathtub, balcony.
All crew have been given their own cabin with a balcony.

I'm not a window licker, so no, but I would be tempted if I ever visit those dizzy heights.

Confirmed my suspicions then.We are taking it in turns to pop back to Southampton for supplies, fuel, water and also offloading crew for repatriation...
Jewel Of The Seas was alongside in Southampton on Sunday, and was the only large passenger ship in. Then on Tuesday there was another cruise ship alongside with her. I didn't get the name, because I was cycling between Hythe and Marchwood (somewhere I shouldn't have been). On Monday there was a liner at sea between Southampton and Weymouth Bay, seen on the horizon off Bournemouth while I cycled to the (annoyingly closed) bakery. A couple of weeks ago I saw QM2 in port one day, then at anchor off Weymouth the next, appearing to have repositioned overnight or on an early tide.
How frustrating is it seeing everyone on the sea front apparently living life as normal? Or are you so used to being on board that it doesn't faze you?

Port fees are probably quite excessive to just sit alongside, plus we need to get rid of a small amount of grey water at some point. It's something I'm used to now, I've had my 3 months off work, so now I'm back to it.
Things are far safer on here, the precautions taken are excessive, but ensure we're all safe.
We have just announced a pause in operations until October 15th, I'm off before then anyhow.

One assumes they 'Pop in to Southampton' with one of the launches / tenders versus the 'actual' vessel
One assumes wrong, though I do see your logic! We have waste to offload, crew to changeover, deliveries to take care of, spare parts etc. New piston and liner arriving this time.
We also need fresh water as we are not making any at present due to depth.

There's 3 or 4 cruise liners moored up off the coast here (Scheveningen, Netherlands), along with several tankers and freighters and semi submersible heavy lift jobbie. Globally the number of ships and crews out of work must be staggering. I can't see people being quick to get back in to going on cruisers after this either.
