Was due to be on the Queen Victoria at the start of May to head up to Norway and then due to be on the Queen Elizabeth in August up in Alaska (QE is currently in Manila bay last time I checked).

At least my CCL stock has improved a little as of late!

QV was my previous ship before Britannia.
Will you be looking at going on the new Cunard ship?

Ah cool - wonder if I've been on it at the same time, I was last on the QV back in November for a trip to the Canaries. My wife and I (I'm 34) are usually the youngest pax on board hehe

Will almost certainly go on the new Cunard ship (done something like 10 trips on Cunard now after my first one for my honeymoon - a TA on QM2 and up to Boston and Halifax, my first ever cruise - fortunately I liked it!), although I might give it a year for the snagging to be sorted. Heard it's rumoured to be called Queen Anne based on something which got leaked by Fincantieri.

Gutted that I had the Alaska trip cancelled. My Norway itinerary was going up to the Arctic circle too which would have been awesome. Always another chance though.

For chrismoose91, seeing as you’ve got nothing to do , could you organise a drag race with the other ships? Say 0-20knots-0 to test acceleration and braking; who do you think would win out the ships there?
RMS Queen Mary 2, without any shadow of a doubt...

Have a look at her hull shape compared to any other cruise ship (indeed, she isn't a cruise ship, she's a cruise liner).

If you ever have a look at her up close, you'll see she's built to an entirely different standard to all the others too.

Did a behind the scenes tour of it years ago including a bridge visit. Awesome ship and I've done 3 transatlantic crossings on it. Nothing beats grabbing a few beers in the pub on it whilst in mid Atlantic.

Have only managed to get a glimpse of 1 in the bay as I drive down the A354 Weymouth Relief road from Dorchester on my way to work

Talking to some people on Zoom last night who live in Weymouth. They say there are 5 big ships in the bay.

We're back for the day, heading to S'ton again tonight for repatriation of our crew.
Joined by Dilbar too, if anyone fancies seeing a yacht almost as big as our smallest ships!

She's huge!

When it comes to 'who's got the biggest yacht' willy waving contest, its quite a hand to play.

Owned by a former shareholder of Arsenal FC it seems.

Three quarters the length of Seabourn Ovation... Which carries over 600 passengers in pretty high style.

Cripes.

I walk my dog along his back garden and judging by the camera's and security men I see, I'd hazard a guess that he doesn't live a stress free life or enjoy simple freedoms.

Aurora, ventura and Britannia left today for Southampton or a waste dumping run.

We (Britannia) have just passed Nab tower in S'ton. Will be back in the bay tomorrow night or the next day.
We have lots of repatriation flights going on at the moment, hence the movements.

I watched two under way out of the bay while I rode my bike up on the Purbeck cliff tops. Couldn't tell which two they were, but the lead ship of the pair set a course out more to the south, into deeper waters. The second stayed far closer to the coast heading east to the Solent. I could just make out some more hulls at anchor in the bay, but it was pretty hazy looking into the sun. All I could really see were some smaller blobs in front of the big Portland-shaped blob!

On Sunday I took my wife to the old RN Armaments Depot in Marchwood to see what was in. Two container ships (YM Essence and MOL Tribute), a bulk carrier (Spar Corona) taking on scrap metal, Britannia, then the "yacht" Dilbar, with Empress Of The Seas further along the quay and Azura side-on to us further down. Dilbar is an absolute monster of a yacht!

Someone ought to tell Royal Caribbean that 'Empress' is looking scruffy, and needs a lick of paint! wink
