Nice one. I’ll take the little one up to Kemble this weekend to see if we can catch a glimpse

G-CIVY Now heading East as if circling back for a flyby.

Caught the double takeoff and subsequent flyby just in time. Been on both of those old gals in my time.

G-CIVB is holding over Fairford waiting for G-CIVY - wonder if they are going to do a formation flypast somewhere?

Edit: obviously not, CIVY has veered off routing towards St.Athan, CIVB must be holding to get in to Kemble.

BA 747s have flown me all over the world over the past 20 years, including a memorable unplanned 24 hours in rural Kazakhstan. It's a sad day to hear the last one fly over my garden, but I'll certainly make the trip to Kemble at some point to show my young kids the original "jumbo jet".

Or is it weather related? Bit breezy and misty today!

Kemble has got the Negus one as well so again a little special.

Would be slightly amusing if they had to divert.

747s will be around for quite a while yet. This is just the withdrawal of the final BA examples.

CIVY has landed at StAthan but CIVB is still holding at 7000feet around Fairford.

Which in 747 terms is also 'around' Kemble.

Probably weather related but I do like the idea of the one to be preserved being the last to touch down.

Fairford cloudbase is 700 feet I'd imagine it's the same just up the road. CIVB is continuing to hold, does look like it's weather related.

Would have thought CIVB would have been fuelled fairly light, been circling for nearly an hour, going to be decision time soon.
