Funny how the serial number on the Spit is reversed but the letters on the Mustang aren't...

And there doesn't appear to be a 'door' on the left side of the fuselage......

The Spitfire is a HF Mk.IX (G-BRSF) 'City Of Exeter' that flies from Goodwood...

...I think this is an older photograph of RR232, because in more recent years the aeroplane has flown with added black and white "Invasion Stripes" (still without squadron codes).

Would be a nice photo of the Spitfire and Mustang if it wasn't a (badly done) Photoshop. Love the Corsair photo, that is cool.

Why do Buccaneer crews go 'gear up' so soon after getting airborne? "We have to raise the landing gear so that we can descend to operating altitude"

Etc...

Etc...

hehe

There's a rumour that Buccaneer crew were selected based on their fear of heights

Stargazer. Very cool, used for putting satellites into orbit.

It's used very rarely now and may have already have completed its last launch.

Not amazingly cool, but here’s an An2 and a Harvard sat atop Stuttgart Terminal 3 yesterday. According to the information board, the An-2 could seat 12 adults + 2 children (!). Also what’s the black dorsal protrusion behind the cockpit on the Harvard? You might need to zoom in to see it.

Edit: just a little “not a lot of people know that” fact. Stuttgart airport is called the Manfred Rommel airport. He was a long term mayor of the city. He was also the only son of the Desert Fox Erwin Rommel, but they don’t advertise that fact…
