Hi, I've been using TrainerRoad for a good while now, and it's brilliant. Combined with weight loss I've had a 42% increase in my watts/kg. It's now getting to the level where I need to decide what I want. I don't really road cycle, my bike hasn't been off the trainer in months. I do a bit of Mtb but nothing religious, maybe once a week tops. I'm into motorcycle enduro which is probably what I'd like to train for most.

I don't want to be a cycling athlete which is how I feel I'm heading with TrainerRoad, the difference its made to my fitness and mtb is amazing but the workouts are becoming a real slog now and I'm struggling especially whilst in a calorie deficit. My weight is almost where I'd like it now so I'd like to start lifting weights properly again. TR doesn't leave much energy left for weight.

I suppose what I'm after is something where I can pick workouts that are nice steady state lower intensity, not aiming for a increase in ftp as fast as possible. I can probably use TR for this? I've used zwift in the past and could use that too, I'm not bothered about the entertainment aspect from zwift as I put a firestick in the TV and watch something on there.

Any other suggestions of what might suit? Ideally a smaller subscription price than TR or zwift?

If you're happy to design your own workouts, and only need the numbers from speed/cadence/HR/power etc. Then just use something like Wahoo fitness app. and your phone or a tablet.

It's free. It connects to the sensors via bluetooth, and will store each workout. You can upload to various sites if you wish.

There's no 'riding' visuals, it's all figures.

I used to run it on the tablet, and Spotify on the phone. The tablet was too slow, so I've swapped them over.
