Slightly off topic, but a solicitor told me that they’ve been advised to report all transaction involving any Russian individuals or companies. I’m not sure how accurate this information is.
There's a Russian chap that does some work with us occasionally. Or Israeli. Or British. Depending on the passport he uses for ID on that contract.shopper150 said:

That might be their firm's policy to report to their risk management team (indeed in our firm our risk team proactively look for this stuff) but no requirement exists to report externally at the moment, unless it is a suspicious transaction, as normal. normalbloke said:
He’s gone, he’s in the salt mines…
Maybe the Nickel mine - if you are so inclined, have a read up on the city of Norilsk. One hell of a place - everything about it is extreme."Heavy metal pollution near Norilsk is so severe that it has now become economically feasible to mine surface soil, as the soil has acquired such high concentrations of platinum and palladium"

Wow. It's certainly a "dirty secret" that while we're all buying battery powered cars and generally trying be a little bit more considerate of the environment these days, Norilsk is this polluted. It's the worlds 2nd biggest Nickel mine. Guess what one of the critical metals in an EV is? Nickel.
Average life expectancy in Norilsk is 60. A decade shorter than the Russian average and 2 decades shorter than ours in the UK.

All bonkers.
We use a lot of Nickel sheet at work, our supplies are not from Russia, but as LME has suspended trading on Nickel across the board we cant currently buy any anyway!
It's crazy, I work for the world's largest nickel producer and we've never seen pricing like this. We use a lot of Nickel sheet at work, our supplies are not from Russia, but as LME has suspended trading on Nickel across the board we cant currently buy any anyway!
