I think we should all pray silence for the OP.

Well, this is a concern...

First you suggest he is selling BS. Now you are telling us he is taking advantage of his position. If it is BS, it is not taking advantage of his position.

I can see how a person in the industry would be offended by both avenues... BS brings the industry down. Violating confidence spoils the purpose of the life style for the owners. Which is it?

I will add, that if he is violating his own yacht he would fired on the spot. Something he has spoken about many times. Are you concerned he is sharing too much accurate info about yachts he does not work for? Would that not risk his career.

I am not doubting your concerns are valid. I am just not satisfied that we have enough evidence to post a man's name on the internet and throw conflicting accusations around.
He is taking advantage of his position by implying he is in some way privy to information which is not in the public domain. He isn't even a head of department, let alone management level, so the chances of him actually knowing anything is slim, so he fills his channel with rumour and conjecture - no worse than most of the worlds media to be fair to him, but there are huge amount of factual inaccuracies which for reasons of confidentiality those who actually do know, are unable to correct.

Believe it or not but this matters - a lot of the boats he mentions are under investigation, and the more false information which is out there, the harder it is for the truth to be proven, and there are crew who's livelihood depend on this.

The fact that he has, it tells you they don't mind?
Maybe they don’t mind, which in my experience would be unusual, or are not aware?

I’d be interested to know more specifically what you believe he’s being factually inaccurate about?
Supposed yacht owners, AIS shenanigans/possible explanations, yacht locations, reasons why specific vessels have (or have not) been detained, etc?

I only came across his channel during this whole Ukraine business, and on the face of it he comes across as knowledgeable and reasonably well researched, and where info isn’t clear, appropriately caveated, which is fair enough.

I don’t think his “rank” is of relevance to his credibility, as it doesn’t come across as though he’s reporting privileged information, nor anything that isn’t already out in the public domain if you know were to look. Just consolidating that info into one easy to digest source for those who are interested.
