A toilet?
Are they made for specific aircraft or are they an off the shelf part?

Not 100% certain but I’d guess they are all pretty similar size wise, just depends on how the manufacturers get them to work. This one was made in Germany but a lot of the Airbus toilets are US made

Electric motor driven hydraulic pump, part number 57186-10?

PS. I used to test, repair, overhaul and modify these, so I didn’t need to zoom in on the ID plate smile

I did a load of the ceramic bearing mods on these. Unfortunately we started that programme just as 9/11 happened, and convincing customers to spend $3,500 on the mod was a challenge when so many used pumps were sat in the desert, available very cheaply. Once they got their heads around the 1,000,000 hours predicted use before failure, they were ok about it.

I know they have heaters built into them to prevent icing but do they suffer aerodynamic heating too?
Probably not. Part of a pre flight check is to turn the pitot heater on, and check by hand, that it is getting warm (which it does fairly quickly) the air flowing past, and through it, helps to keep it within a usable temperature when pitot heat is selected.
Aerodynamic heating of a pitot head, will probably only be an issue on some `very' fast aircraft.

It looks heat discoloured.
That's because they get hot. Really surprisingly hot. They certainly melt the protective boots very quickly, don't ask how I know. hehe
Burnt my hand on one many years back doing a preflight walk round. It properly bloody hurt! Obviously, it shouldn’t have been left on (never assume, check etc) so now I’m super weary of them.
Indeed! (Never assume) I was doing a pre flight, and found bee firmly lodged in the dynamic vent, (it might even have been nicely cooked?!).
