I'm rubbish at taking pics plus the fly past bit was actually over in what felt like an instant. Highlight was turning off and seeing all the other aircraft going by in the side window.

Have more pics but not sure I want to post them or should. Had some time sat on the lowered ramp with a harness/cord on me too.
This place is great sometimes.
Isn’t it just !! Love it when this stuff happens, thanks for posting the pic Dai

We had a nice view of some of the fast jets and the Reds over the Thames Valley, west of Reading. Must have been great in Central London.

This worked out well. The flypast went directly overhead the Leather Bottle, Blackmore - where I was standing, with a pint of lager.
Damn, That’s why I only got a glimpse from Kelvedon hatch!!

Very similar location to my shot from years back.

On the TV the fly past seemed to be higher than normal ? Illusion? Is the flypast altitude always the same ?

We had 4 helicopters fly over central beds early this morning in a diamond formation - followed by another single shorty after.

Not sure what they were, but they looked like they might have been Apaches. They made an impressive noise overhead.

A great show today although not long enough.

Something very British about a Bucky palace fly over.

Question: would the C-17 have been affected by turbulence from the A-400 props or similar ? Over us it looked to be having a slightly rough ride

A great view from our usual vantage point here in Leytonstone.

All very impressive, especially the '70'.

Rounded off by going to the pub. smile

No, the C-17 was sat quite a bit lower than the A400M (which is the normal ‘line astern’ formation position) so underneath the prop wash. It may have been a bit bumpy yesterday just due to the convective weather conditions.

Saw most of the planes in the distance as they headed SW over Colchester but the Lancaster came directly over the recreation ground in Fingringhoe, heading W at that point. My best guess is it was flying over Abberton reservoir given the Dambusters connection?

Second photo down. What are they and why are they in the flypast?

They later came over our house (west of Winchester), wondered if they were going to Bournemouth, but Flight Radar showed they later turn up towards Bristol, and back to Lossiemouth/Waddington.

I don't want to detract from the thread too much, but...

A fly past at each capital would be a fine thing. Cardiff had a Royal Salute with ceremonial artillery guns, HMS Severn open to visitors and the British Military Festival of Music (with artillery accompanying). It was a great day out.

The RAF were conspicuous by their absence. A flyover from Red Arrows would have been fantastic, or even just a quick flight from a Typhoon over the bay, or even the Chinook or Para-display team...

I bet the RAF has almost no cash left after yesterday’s effort. Enough for the planned displays til next April, and that’s it.

As already said, P-8 Poseidon and a RC-135W Rivet Joint.
They were in the flypast because the intention of the flypast was to show one of each type of front line aircraft currently in service with the RAF/FAA.

Couple more of mine as I've put them up elsewhere but not really a picture/selfie person.

Saw the Palace and Mall out of the small gap the ramp was opened but the view was here and gone in seconds.
