Three flypasts (flies past?) at c.14.30 over the local jubilee celebrations at Warmley (east of Bristol) together with a Spitfire and a Hurricane. Then headed east(ish).Looked up.

Aren't there Hunters, Jet Provots, Vixen, Vampire still flying last I checked...One Vampire left airworthy, a couple of JP's and a couple of their sister Strikemasters, and that's it excluding the 2 x Meteor operated by Martin-Baker under military contract, and the 3 x Hunters operated by HHA under military contract.
Sea Vixen made a wheels up landing at Yeovilton about 4 years ago, and is beyond economic repair and will never fly again.
Post Shoreham there won't be any civvie Hunters flying again, nor any other vintage jets I'm afraid other than those mentioned. Pretty sure neither of the 2 x Gnats at North Weald have flown in recent years either as a result of Shoreham.

We’re the gnats ceasing flying due to Shoreham or due to one crashing? That article is a year old. 'Sainty' is no longer the display pilot either. Photos from here: https://www.lincolnshirelive.co.uk/news/local-news...
Incredible looking scheme to see in the sky, saw it a few times at shows and display practices last year.

Cheers, that is really cool!https://youtu.be/1U5UmXz3PIc
Saw the BBMF over our heads but the rest was NW of us, should have gone to bottm field had we known.
Against the grain but i thought it was pretty poor tbh, probably for H&S reasons and cost, but why couldnt we have a mass of planes all together not so far apart, seeing 2-3 at a time with big gaps is quite boring for such a unique occasion (i mean we wont have a plat jubilee ever again). A mass of them all together as if going on a WW2 bombing raid or in continuous waves would be far more spectacular and impressive IMHO!!! Maybe would have been too long for Queenie to stand on the balcony for though.
i await being shot down..no pun intended.

It depends where you see them from. As all the aircraft have varying speeds it’s about timing them overhead Buckingham palace ensuring there’s sufficient space before they break the other side of the palace. To enable a WW2 bombing style formation you’d require all the aircraft to be able to fly at a similar speed which of course is much easier for newer and non rotary aircraft.
