Thomson rather than Thomas Cook surely?

Great pics, but the reg on that 737 is totally on the wrong plane! If the civil Vulcans didn't already have appropriate regs on them...
Correct - Thomson.
Too many Thoms
Britannia was also the first UK airline to operate the Boeing 767, and then as TUI to be the first UK airline to operate the Boeing 787 in 2013.

I think I flew with Air Malta a few years ago, having learned from here it's now bust.
Deservedly so IMO. My wife booked tickets with them to Catania a couple of times to save cash and the whole experience was ghastly. Worse than RyanAir ghastly. The worst thing about those otherwise great stays in Sicily was the knowledge throughout of how we’d be getting back.

The fact that there is an air steward (?) stood behind, you may have hoped he would offer to help.

I've been on a few that have already mentioned- including my first ever flight with Swissair. Mostly other charter fligths which changed their names about a thousand times.
Others I've been on not yet mentioned:

City Airline (based out of Gothenburg)
BritAir (Air France subsidiary- used to fly LGW-Nantes in the 90s
Air Berlin
BelAir
British Airways Helicopters, which in turn became British International Helicopters, which is now integrated into Bristow

Happy days

Jet Lite
Jet Konnect
Kingfisher Airlines
Deccan
GoAir (not the BA one also bust!)

Indigo was the big winner over there.

How many airlines did Niki Lauda set up? The only one that’s left is the A320 flying division of Ryanair, isn’t it?

I flew with Lauda years ago, late 80's ISTR, to Austria skiing (or perhaps it was Tenerife?). I think it was a MD83 and it was one of the nicest flight experiences I can recall - well looked after, great food and really nice staff.

It's a still from the little known Hitchcock thriller about a stewardess who is pushed from the open door of a Viscount flight from Heathrow to Newcastle - it's called "North by Northeast".

Sorry for slight off topic...

I can't remember what airline but I once flew a flight labelled Orlando to Tokyo direct non-stop with a change of aircraft and a change of crew at Minneapolis St Paul which was lucky for me as I needed to get to Gatwick. How did they come up with that?

Northwest Orient? They had a hub in Minneapolis St Paul’s. In the early days (80s/90s?) before transatlantic were allowed from Edinburgh or Glasgow all Scottish/US flights had to go via Prestwick and we used Northwest Orient from there a few times - always to Minneapolis then change for wherever - in our case I recall San Francisco and LA.
