Had an overhead fly-past of the Vulcan yesterday in Bath, just as we were taking wedding photos for a friend. Brought a smile to everyone's faces.
I was lying on my bed when I heard it coming, jumped up and still managed to get to the window in plenty of time. What a machine. eccles said:

After the Shorham incident the CAA have put in place a temporary restriction on vintage jet aircraft
http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?catid=14&...
Flying displays over land by vintage jet aircraft will be significantly restricted until further notice. They will be limited to flypasts, which means ‘high energy’ aerobatics will not be permitted.
I think this will probably mean that if you haven't seen XH558 display this year then you won't as I'm guessing this will mean she can only do flypasts
Would the display at Bournmouth be over water..... If so, nothing has changed.http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?catid=14&...

It's still down to appear at the Teesside airshow this weekend apparently: http://www.skyliveevents.co.uk/
Hoping to get along, might a blast down on the motorbike to beat the traffic.

Thanks for the 'nudge', I've now booked accommodation in Rhyl prior to the air show. It'll be the third time I've seen XH558 this year.
I think personally I'd have booked a bit of a distance from Rhyl (based on last time I visited the town) but bank holiday weekend in North Wales doesn't leave you a lot of options.tortop45 said:

Operations Director and Chief Pilot of the Vulcan to the Sky Trust, Martin Withers, has spoken to his contacts at the CAA, and has released this statement:
“I am pleased to report that I have received assurances from our contacts at the CAA that XH558's 2015 display routine is not classified as aerobatic, and so consequently, we are hoping to continue to fly on through XH558's last season with minimal changes to our display.”

Just seen that the Vulcan is doing a fly past of Lakenheath on Thursday, when she will be escorted by a pair of F15's.
That's a sight to see!

Any ideas when her final flight is likely to be?, wouldn't mind being at Donny for the final landing.
As it stands at the moment her last flight is -Sat 26th September Leeds East - Church Fenton (North Yorkshire) Display
Sure something special is still to be announced for her final final flight and it will be like Heathrow for concorde's last landing
