Couldn't they have just stuck it on a barge and floated it up/down the river?
Thats what I thought but we are talking about Americans

Are they planning to fix it up and fly it again? Do they really need to carry out endless tests and analyses on the airframe?
They should have simply chopped it up while tethered to the docks.
the wings look to have been removed with a disc cutter.....it will never take to the air again that's for sureThey should have simply chopped it up while tethered to the docks.
Yeah, it's been completely submerged in seawater. I can't see it taking to the air, and they would be foolish to try and put any parts from it onto other planes. Which again raises the question, why all the effort to transport it somewhere like this? Why not simply chop it up and send the pieces off to recycling centres?
