Probably a long shot, I know, but nothing like the "towpath telegraph" and I need to find somewhere secure, pref with an electric hook-up/water/landline/ secure parking, etc, to moor a 68' narrowboat. I live on board part-time, at least 4 days per week. Was going to a marina on a "pied-a-terre" basis in West London, but they told me they couldn't take my boat until March, then had the cheek to try to charge me for Jan / Feb. NO way! Will consider anything, anywhere, but areas preferred would be anywhere in Hants, failing that, Essex, Surrey, Berkshire, Kent, etc, etc. HELP!!!

Try Thames Marina - www.thamesmarina.co.uk. they are at Thames Ditton and have residential berths on the Riverside.

Penton Hook in Chertsey will take you no problems, they have loads of liveaboards ( friends live there), bit pricey but nice marina.

Also there is D'Oyly Carte Island in Wybridge.

Word fo advise, the owners are old and can be "funny", in only a way old people can.

Also try Limehouse and Brentford if you are looking for nearer to london, if they have space and you keep a low profile ( ie only part time living ) you should be fine.

You could try South Dock marina....

They don't own up to Living ob board, but plenty do... And they have a secure car park.

(My mate lived here for 4-5 years, so I know it's doable..
