USNS Mercy's conversion - The Mercy class of hospital ships are converted San Clemente-class supertankers that were constructed for commercial service. Originally built in the 1970s by the National Steel and Shipbuilding Company, they were acquired by the US Navy and converted into hospital ships, coming into service in 1986 and 1987.

Another shot of HMS Eagle - a bit earlier than the one above I think, going by the types of aircraft visible ( Sea Venom, Seahawk, Wyvern )

Although as you say the aircraft are the giveaway HMS Eagle used J as it's deck letter between 1951-1958.
