A tiddler by todays standards, although she would have been big when new!

May I ask what you were passing-by in?

I started my ‘retirement job’ a couple of weeks ago.
3 week on & off and zero stress by modern standards:

The Britannia Beaver.
Aggregate dredger working English Channel & Thames mostly.

I like this one ,on Lake Garda

Looks a bit choppy.

Are you based near Garda?
No ,it was a road trip in September / October 2019 , my last , because then 2020 happened .

I was waiting for the cars in the Gran Premio du Nuvolari to come past .

It was a very nice sunny day for September , went up Stelvio the day before .
Its a grand old spot! The east side for a pizza is a bit of a treat also!

Nice, enjoy your 'retirement'!

I've also just retired (early) and also considered a dredger as a less stressful option, but ultimately couldn't be bothered renewing my short courses so my CoC has now expired and currently I have no intention of renewing it.
Missing some aspects, although overall I'm happy with my decision - the last few trips I did were pretty stressful and that had a major part in making my choice.

Well it isn’t the ‘glamour end’ of the industry but lots of ship handling & little paperwork is a win in my book.

Enjoy your proper retirement, doubtless you’ve earned it.

Next time the wind is howling & you chuck another log on the fire & pour a brandy spare a though for those who haven’t retired yet! thumbup

She’s in good condition for 31 years old.

A new build is on the cards, but nice to be on a British built, owned & crewed ship.

You know you have British crew when you see this in an alleyway!

Sounds like fun, all the good bits without the worst bits!

The fire and subsequent incompetence regarding who's responsible for putting the fire out on the USS Bonhomme Richard in 2020 that then led to it's total destruction and scrapping.

Ablaze.

5 days later the fire was out.
