I was shocked to see 2 tornado's flying over my mum's house in norfolk yesterday.
I cant remember the last time i saw the raf out flying on a sunday afternoon. When i was in the raf in the 80's we hardly ever had operational flying on a weekend apart from trooping the colour flypasts etc.
Does any one know of any events yesterday

We live a couple of hundred yards away from RAF Woodvale and they've been flying on Sundays for as long as I can remember. Maybe as its a training facility?

Loads of the locals complain about it but its not something that's ever bothered me- they have to train somewhere, tbh I don't even notice it any more.

I'm not saying anything about the noise,in fact i love it.
Its just that i've been in norfolk for all my life and i cant remember raf fast jets flying on a sunday.
These would have come from Marham and most raf stations are on minimal man power on a weekend so its very strange for them to be flying.
There is not normally the budget for anything apart from the routine stuff

I don't think they do any training flights at weekends, but I guess it could have been a response to an emergency of some kind?
