Doing this on Monday. Barrel rolls, stalls etc and then if you have kept your lunch in your tum, you may get a go. About 30 mins all in.

Anyone else done this?

Redhill and in a Cessna. Don't know much about planes but I didn't think a Cessna would do stunts.

Hmm, sounds like a Cessna Aerobat, which is basically a 150 with a few mods. Can't they find something a bit more fun?

A lot of people have asked that...generally while pointing and laughing.

Not being a CPL, I'm afraid I can't offer voucher flights, but I can point you in the direction of some of the very best in the business for your next trip, assuming you enjoy the first one.

The venerable Aerobat is capable of basic aerobatic figures, but sadly will spend an inordinate amount of time wheezing back up to the required height to start the next figure, which will eat into your airborne time. In terms of price/performance in aerobatic training, the best trade-off is invariably provided by the Pitts S2 - if you enjoy the 150, the Pitts will blow your socks off.

If you mean Eddie Todd at Sandtoft, he's long gone - in fact, I think a PH'er bought Eddie's JP a while back (in a non-flying condition). Eddie's operation was..um...interesting..to say the least.

Sent my Mrs up with Ultimate High, based in Kemble. She loved it and would love to have another go. they did lots of aero's with her. loops, rolls etc etc and even gave her control at one point.
We didn't see much as the aero's are all done away from the airfield, but I did get to spend some time lusting over a chipmunk there.

I'm sorry to hear that Eddie's gone. The flight I had with him was 4 years ago and I'll never forget the "you have control" through the headset the second we were airborne. It really was the experience of a lifetime.

I'll lend you my ATPL if you want. The CAA still won't let me use it myself.

The 152 is just an update of the 150 - as said, it's not going to knock your socks off, but it'll be a good introduction to aerobatics.

During the EFT I did in the RN, we covered stalling, spinning, and aerobatics (barrel rolls, loops, wing overs, cubans, etc.) in Slingsby Firefly M260s. Muchos fun - the Cessna won't be as lively, but you should still have fun - enjoy your flight!

The Aerobat was a beefed up version of the old 150. Did they ever produce an Aerobat version of the 152?
