Potential for flight?

scratchchin

I've seen a few gate-guardian suitable airframes go for £20k-ish...

I reckon it has potential. There is already one currently flying in the USA (and in private hands), owned by a former Boeing test pilot.

I agree. The maintenance burden of such a complex beast would be fearsome.

It's for sale in the US, so presumably someone over there would buy it. I seem to remember seeing a few static airframes for sale over here, so it would make no sense to pay shipping costs.

Aaah my very own sea jet!

When I win the lottery - as I surely will one day - and buy a farm in South West Scotland, I will build a big shed give some geeks loads of cash and have that as part of a really cool flight sim set up.

The Sea Harrier may have been based on the MK fuselage with inadequater power, but with AMRAAM and ASRAAM linked up with Blue Vixen, it was an awesome fighter.

If the American intransigence over the F-35 software source code carries on, the RN may be wanting that back

Group 20,000,000 apparently, due to the fact that a 12,000 mile service is about £150,000!

It might go for a six figure sum. Without and engine and fully decommissioned it will take another seven figure sum to get it airworthy.

The MOD have just scrapped a Harrier aswell, a GR7 - wasn't cost effective to bring it up to GR9 standard, you could of had that, lol.
