Mid Atlantic Medevac
Discussion
My Dad's been crossing the Atlantic with the ARC for the last few weeks. Then last Thursday he was medevac'd off his yacht onto the Super Servant 3 when he lost all feeling in his left hand. Fearing a possible stroke or heart problems, he could be in Martinique 3 days earlier than if he'd stayed on his own boat. He emailed rom the super servant and I was impressed that he'd been picked up by one of the coolest boats I know!
All went well, and doctors in Martinique think he's just damaged the nerves in his hand and discharged him in an hour.
So, Dad gets a flight to St Lucia to meet up with his crew on their arrival and gets talking to another bloke who'd also been medevac'd off his boat due to gall stones. Only, the nearest boat to him was Paul Allen's Octopus. He speant 4 days on board, and was taken off by helicopter when they got within 300 miles of Martinique. The rescue helicopter landing on one of Octopus' 2 helipads.
Some people get all the luck!

Er, what's the story with that ship with all the boats on it? Where does that feature in the story?
That's the Super Servant 3 that his dad was on. One of those boats that 1/2 sinks to have stuff put on it.Gassing Station | Boats, Planes & Trains | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
