Looks like 1210KM ish to me.

There is never a set routing between LGW and MAD. It would vary with which arrivals and departures, runway in use, weather, holding, time of day etc etc. I really doubt you'd add another 300KM onto the direct distance though.

It's almost impossible for you to get the exact route or even the planned distance for that flight on that day.

Wouldn't this 1500KM figure simply be based on measuring between the two airports anyway?

What a miserable toerag you are tonker. There's Easyjet offering you a no doubt "cheap as chips" flight from Madrid to LGW and for operational or whatever reasons, and I'd guess that it's lack of passengers, your flights cancelled and amalgamaeted with another one, and all you want to do is kick 'em in the balls and make 'em pay compo for some undisclosed "loss"? Would that be about right?. Bearing in mind all airlines, and especially the LCC's are really struggling at the moment, to my mind they need all the help we can all give them. After all if the likes of Easyjet and Ryanair go bust, do you really think good old BA etc is going to keep their fares down? No, it's the LCC's that has brought cheap air travel to us all whereas the big airlines are only interested in how much they can rip us off for

And re your cancelled flight, I had exaclty the same on a flight from Toulouse last Thursday. Turned up for the 16:45 flight only to find it wasn't on the board. Went to the Easyjet counter and before I even said who I was the chap there said ah you must be Mr ColinM, we sent you an e-mail telling you the flight had been cancelled but didn't get a reply from you. Later I checked my e-mails and nothing had been received, but no big deal, they put me on the later flight at 18:30 so I got home a few hours later. Did I rant and rave and kick up a fuss and tell them how important I am and demand compensation? No, life's too short. I got home a few horus late but where the gripe? They're trying to keep their heads above water and I reckon they really need a**holes demanding compo for any implied hardship like they need a hole in their head.

Out of interest Tonker, why do you feel you should get compensation? Ignore the fact that you CAN get it, why do you think you shpuld get it? And for what? What did you lose by being a few hours late? Why not just be grateful that they got you home safely and leave it at that?

Having done over 250 flights with Ryanair and 80 with Easyjet in the last 4 years I reckon they're both wonderful businesses and airlines and we'd all be worse off without them and if we force their operating costs up by taking up management time over stupid and pointless claims for a few quid, then we're all being very shortsighted. All IMHO of course and I don't mean to cause offence.
