That's your PC, Eric.
I don't think so. They just seem to travel and carry out their manouvers at about 2/3 normal speed.I've seen the Arrows hundreds of times over 30 plus years and I know what they look like for real.
Not knocking the graphics at all, just the speed.
It occurs however that if I was to create a work like this, I'd likely produce it at a "virtual" speed such that the viewer could properly appreciate it.
Outstanding piece of animation! - thanks for posting the link.
Cheers,
Eric
A great little find.
I fancied having a go in a lobby on AC6 with a pack of Tornado`s,F14 or F16`s. Throw a few formations together or low high speed flying & save the replay but I rarely stay in one piece long enough amongst the swarm of missiles to bring up the suggestion.

What on Earth was the point of simulating 35 minutes of that, when you can see the real thing in any number of videos?

Because the people who did it will never have a chance at actually being in the Red Arrows? They can sit at their computer and have a go at it though.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DE-A4rLyWW8
Well I have seen them squillions of times as I live next door to the base and see them practise regularly and have to say that was very good and was shocked to see the bulldings were accurate to. I would maybe question some of the ground scenery though
Although I understand what Eric is saying, you just dont get the same sense of speed that they are doing.

I know they are Gnats rather than Hawks but look how "pacey" the whole thing is in that clip from 1967.
I loved the Gnats.
If you go to the BBC archive website, there is an episode of "Go With Noakes" from 1975 when he spent a weekend as part of the ground crew with the Arrows. Noakes had been a fitter in the RAF so they were happy for him to do some tasks such as loading up the paint dyes etc.
