Great job MickRick, the mast looks fab...is it the original...?
Thanks! As far as I know the mast's original, but the mast box I had redone.
The old halyards where wire, and as I'll be using the boat for weekend jollies with my wife, I've gone for some nice modern soft, nice to handle 12mm ones.
So I had to have some new sheaves turned up, and while I was at it, had the mounts for the LED tricolour, VHF antenna, and steaming light done.
This is the old mastbox, and nasty old grey split mast when I bought the boat.
A lot of gluing and clamping! Hope it stays up!

This is what I'll be doing next month in Barcelona, again. If anyone's in MB92 beginning of March, come and say hello.

Thats a fairly serious looking Tri !
Don't see many anymore
The "Long Ranger", built about 15 years ago in South Island New Zeeland somewhere with the idea of taking kids to Roppongi Rongelap, that idea never took off and she wound up in Costa Rica as a dive boat where her current owner found her and brought her over to Asia to be refurbed as a luxury cruising / charter yacht.

90ft long, 38ft wide, 130 ft(from deck) mast, she is a full-on ocean going tri!

Based in Changi, Singapore but i took that picture in Bass Harbour, Langkawi on a delivery to Phuket

More here http://www.yachtlongranger.com/

And if you are having a quiet day at work, have a read of some of the Captains Stories, http://www.yachtlongranger.com/captains_log.html fantastic true boys own stuff about exploring Asia and treasure hunting over the past 40 years by teh most amazing character you will ever meet.

Trust me, you wont get any work done today once you start reading the stories!

edit - pissed, ment somewhere in the south pacific, not dowontown Tokyo paperbag

Intersting seeing the picture of the old Maxi Condor, it was for sale a few years ago and a good friend of mine nearly ended up running it, but the owner pulled out of the sale.

Where are those Pic's taken ? Burnedout

Here's some from when I worked on the rusty green tug, from 1996 to 2002.
Can you guess which one she is?

Well Done! Yep, Lone Ranger, although the one with the Tempest 44 alongside, is when she was Simson S.
I worked on her as Both. In fact I ended up owning the Tempest 44. smile

Lone Range. Do you know a guy called Ian Little, he worked on her for a while. He said all he ever did was chip off rust and paint.., May well be just after you left.
