or Mari Cha III - Saw this in Bonifacio once dwarfed the rest of the boats in there. Was a record holder but not as extreme as Mari Cha IV

I was offered the mate's job on Mari Cha III a few years back. Lovely boat, although the interior refit requested by the daughters when they took her over was in questionable taste.
Really! Did you get to sail on her at all? I never saw below decks but the guys working on her who we chatted to at the time said that you could strip out a lot of the luxury 'easily'(I am sure thats a loose term!) in order to race/go fast!

Did the boat not have that whole modular interior thing going on for race/cruise.
I did have a good close up pic of a J24 calling a mark on her at Antigua ,I must try and find it ( Not digi).

Ah got there before me ........

She looks lovely! Is she equipped with any more modern touches? or is it lots of old school brute force and coffee grinding going on!

Skat looks like it should have guns:

Seen this a couple of times in PB, was told it belonged to Sean Connery
That one is the winner for me! Epic! Looks evil..but cant help thinking that black would look even better!!!
Kidding right?
Looks like grim Grey Industrial Building.
With a fking crap lean-too PVC conservatory on the side decks

do you consider it to be similar / better / worse than :

on a par...?

biggrin
how can you compare that grey ugly 'thing, with alfa nero, for me alfa nero is master piece.

im looking forward to this, 'oceanco y708' i think will be completed in 2012.
i think this is an upgrade from alfa nero.

I quite like Skat, not pretty but the interior is very sparse, some superyachts have way OTT interiors (Alfa Nero included) but Alfa Nero is beautiful, it's "beach" at the back it great. Octopus is still the ultimate though, for me.

Old school 44 crew that week, 1/2 half hour to get the sails up and load transfers with rolling hitches and lots of people , low on deck gear.

The already cool Depp has gone up in coolness since seeing that. That is a very nice vessel. Impressive modern yachts are, but very few could be called pretty.

It is a cool yacht, my friend managed the refit on it, the inside is very cool,

I think he lived on it whilst filming Pirates of the Caribbean in St Lucia

I believe this is the same as the one below, seen at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2009:

It's not Vijay Mallya's (Force India/Kingfisher Group) Indian Empress though.

Thats funny

The col regs state that all vessel shall avoid collision at all costs, the f-wit that thinks he can claim tacks on something that size should not be at sea simples really, never in the court of law has a collision occured and both parties been entirely innocent.
