Why do so many people choose sort of real old school looking, gaudy interiors anyway? Just because that's how they're "supposed to be"? Or is it just the demographic presumably dominated by russians/arabs/tech nerds and that's what they're in to?
I'm really surprised there's never any crazy modern stuff out there on a massive scale. When I was at uni I did a project to design a super yacht and we went a bit sorta Hadid inspired modern. We still think it'd be awesome in reality. The guys I worked with went on to work at big yacht design consultancies like AW but it never seems to be implemented even there.
This is what happens when you go modern. I'm really surprised there's never any crazy modern stuff out there on a massive scale. This was moored up next to me in Rogozinca in Croatia last week.

They built in New Zealand, PW? Cool.
Yes, the above boat and the two Limo tenders for M/Y A were built by Vaudrey Miller in New Zealand.Unfortunately they're now out of business... along with a few other NZ super yacht yards over the last several years, which is a shame.
I don't know if they just pilfered them from the old A or if they got someone else to build new ones for S/Y A.

I'm trying to figure out whether that "PUSH!" logo on the cupboard is actually there, so that people can figure out how to open it, or whether it's a watermark without the subtlety of the Penfold ones. The rest of it reminds me of some of the so-called inspirational nonsense that appears in posts on the "council" thread. Also that shadow would bug me - imagine the vessel being taken over by armed pirates, you're hiding in the bedroom waiting to pick a few off, but keep jumping around the doorway because it looks like one is on the way, albeit one with a "certain gait".
Still, all that can just be painted over I guess. A couple of tins of Magnolia would soon have the worst of it covered.

The Aga Khan ordered it in December 1998, it launched in 2003, hit by countless delays it has only recently been completed.
Oh and it's powered by six gas turbine engines and said to be capable of up to 70 knots
What does '0-57kn in 16 years.' mean?Oh and it's powered by six gas turbine engines and said to be capable of up to 70 knots
Is the 56.9kn actually total distance done since launch then and not current speed?
